In addition to the St. Maarten cats, we have several other cats at Merrick Veterinary Group that are also in need of loving homes. Please consider adopting one today.
Swirly - Swirly was born sometime in July 2008 and was living with her 3 siblings in a feral cat colony. She was trapped and brought to us as a young kitten. She had a severe upper respiratory infection and a fever and was treated for a long time before she got better. She has been living at the Merrick Veterinary Group ever since. She is extremely affectionate and would love to go to a forever home, however there is just one thing that you need to know about Swirly - she is FIV +. She contracted this virus from her mom either before or just after she was born. This means that she cannot go to a home that has other cats. If you or someone you know wants to adopt a wonderful cat and plan to have a single cat household please consider adopting our little friend Swirly! She is fully vaccinated and has been spayed.
Bagheera - Bagheera is a 3 year old spayed female cat (sister to Raven and Face). She was trapped as a young feral kitten but could not be released back where she came from. Bagheera is very shy and needs a lot of love and patience. If you are looking for a "lap cat" she is not for you. We think that she will do much better in a home setting where she will feel safe and allow you to get closer to her. It will take time, but she will be a loyal friend if you give her the chance. She gets along well with the other cats we have, but is terrified of dogs. Please consider adopting her and giving her a chance to have a real home for the first time in her life.
Tripod - Is a 5 year old male neutered cat. Tripod was found several years ago by our technician Paulette, in her back yard. He had been hit by a car and had severe injuries. His left front leg was mangled, infected and beyond repair so it had to be amputated. He also had an inguinal hernia and several deep lacerations. Now Tripod is fat and happy and looking for a forever home. He gets along well with other cats, but is very shy with dogs and would prefer not to live with them.
Please consider adopting him and giving him a loving home.
Face (Chantilly) - Face is a beautiful 3 year old spayed female cat (sister to Bagheera and Raven). She was trapped as a young feral kitten and could not be released back where she came from. Face is extremely shy, but very curious. We often see her peeking around corners to get a look at the action.

2 black and white kittens - one short hair female and one medium hair female. These kittens are 12 weeks old. They were left in a box with food and a note asking for help finding homes. Please consider adopting one (or both!) of these siblings. They would love to go to a home together.
Crush - Crush is a 2 year old male neutered cat. You may recognize him from your visits to our office. Crush likes to roam free around the hospital checking in on our appointments and hospitalized patients. He also likes to wander into the waiting area to see who is next in line to be seen. Crush is extremely friendly, gets along well with cats and most dogs and would make a wonderful addition to any home, including those with young children. As much as we love having him around, we want him to have a forever home.
Raven - Raven is a 3 year old spayed female cat (sister to Bagheera and Face). She was trapped as a young feral kitten but could not be released back where she came from. Raven is nervous and very shy. Once she gets to know you she loves to be rubbed and petted. It will take time, but she will be a loyal friend if you give her the chance. She gets along well with the other cats we have, but is terrified of dogs. Please adop her and give her a chance to have a real home for the first time in her life.
These cats are available for adoption now. They are all Feline Leukemia and FIV negative, fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered with no health problems. Please call the Merrick Veterinary Group at 516-379-6200, to schedule a time to visit these cats.
